What is Chartered Mathematics Teacher Designation?
ATM, as a representative of the Chartered Mathematics Teacher Registration Authority, is proud to offer our members the opportunity to apply for the CMathTeach Designation.
CMathTeach is incorporated within the Royal Charter of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and is awarded by the Chartered Mathematics Teacher Registration Authority.
The Chartered Mathematics Teacher (CMathTeach) designation reflects the balance between teaching skills (pedagogy) and mathematics knowledge that is necessary for a professional teacher to educate and inspire today’s students.
The CMathTeach designation can also:
- Identify you as being at the forefront of your profession.
- Encapsulate standards of professional excellence across mathematics teaching in the 21st century.
- Benchmark you at the same level as a Chartered Mathematician, Chartered Scientist, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Science Teacher etc.
Register a request for support with CMathTeach
Chartered Teacher status is independent recognition of your effectiveness as a teacher, your commitment to personal professional development and the development of others both within your own instituion and beyond. If you are a member of ATM who aspires to CMathTeach and would like personal support from a fellow member who holds CMathTeach then please register your interest (Please note: you must be a member of ATM to access the registration form).
One of our CMathTeach representiatives will contact you by email within five working days to arrange to speak with you at a mutually convenient time via phone or Skype.
To apply for the CMathTeach designation via ATM individuals must be a member of ATM and also satisfy the requirements in the following four areas:
- Continuing Professional Development
The application pack contains full details on how to apply and will need to be filled out and returned to the ATM office by post or email.
