Shapes in Space book and poster

This exploration of polyhedra goes beyond the familiar Platonic and Archimedean solids.

This full colour book explains some important properties, provides historical background, and includes activities, and questions (with answers) for classroom discussion. Supplementary datasheets are available on-line. The poster shows 50 convex polyhedra that can be made with standard classroom materials and groups them into 10 families.

Suitable for secondary schools, the material should develop students' spatial, observational, and language skills by identifying, comparing, describing and classifying properties of polyhedra.
