Number Without a Worksheet

This book has been written by the Early Childhood Mathematics Group as a companion booklet to the ATM activity book ‘Exploring mathematics with younger children’.

The transition between R and Y1 is a challenge for both learners and teachers. Members of the ECMG have chosen their favourite number activities to help bridge the R to Y1 gap without resorting to worksheets. In this book you will find twelve core activities, each with extensions, simplifications and suggestions for developing the ideas, together with a list of resources and the identification of the mathematical learning. The activities give the help you need to save planning time and to encourage children to think mathematically.

This book is the help you need to save planning time and to get the children thinking mathematically.
