Q.E.D. Beauty in Mathematical Proof

Q.E.D. Beauty in Mathematical Proof

Another stunningly beautiful little book from Wooden Books – and such a good topic to choose for an amazingly well illustrated book. Proof is something I suspect many of our students find far more beautiful – but this book does a superb job in presenting proofs very carefully and very simply – in short in makes them look beautiful. Whether looking at 0.99999...=1 or Pythagoras’ Theorem every diagram is clear and will be easily understood.

From Euclid’s Elements to Knotting Polygons there is a world of interesting ideas presented to the reader. Circles, Cones, prime numbers, dominoes, an infinite staircase... the list seems endless.

This book could hardly fail to amuse and educate – whether to an audience of maths teachers, or interested students. This is a real gem.
