Complete A-Z Mathematics Handbook

How the publisher describes it:

“Are you baffled by terminology? Do you find some concepts confusing and difficult to grasp? Designed to familiarize students with the language of mathematics, the third edition of this A-Z handbook has been updated to cover the 2003 specification of all AS and A2 Level courses. It should serve as a useful study companion and revision aid, unravelling even the most complex maths jargon. The title is designed to be user-friendly, with a careful cross-referencing throughout. The more complicated or more significant a term is, the more thorough the explanation and, where appropriate, diagrams, formulae and worked examples are included to clarify specific topics. Additionally, the title includes: revision tips; exam hints; synoptic assessment; examiner's terms; and revision lists.”

Review by Sue Pope

In brief:

Likely to be useful addition to your sixth form mathematics library.

“Thorough and helpful”

‘The A-Z Handbook explains all the key terms in Advanced Level Mathematics’ claims the back cover. It is certainly comprehensive in its coverage of pure and applied mathematics, and likely to be useful addition to your sixth form mathematics library if you don’t have it already.

Many of the entries are thorough and helpful. For example...
