Review by Emma Folman
In brief:
This provides all that is required of a teacher's book.
“A valuable starting point for some successful learning”
This provides all that is required of a teachers’ book. My assessment of it was limited given I don’t have the accompanying textbook. The Framework teacher books, for example have the copy of the students page available to review all the questions in advance.
I was able to trial a fantastic worksheet looking at the reality of BIDMAS. It provided pictorial examples of BIDMAS, certainly in ways that I had never considered by looking at shoals of fish. The students found it useful to model their early answers by drawing images themselves to represent bracketed problems. It was a valuable starting point for some successful learning in our mathematics lesson.
Consolidating learning for less able mathematical students is so vital, I shall be watching for a copy of level up 3-5, to experiment with these series further, but currently I am unable to comment further.
