The Primary Project Box • ‘Our School/Our World’

The Primary Project Box is a cross-curricular resource developed by a number of the major subject associations including the ATM, and is published under their joint imprint, the Curriculum Partnership. It is aimed at key stage 1, and can be used as groundwork for lower key stage 2 by introducing simple, enjoyable activities related to individual subjects.

The Primary Project Box offers a sequence of lessons, based around the theme ‘Our School/Our World’, which develop subject knowledge and skills within the coherence of children’s experience. The lessons focus on Art, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, PE, Primary Languages, RE and Science. Design and Technology is covered by one continuous unit in the teachers’ guide.

Written by teachers for teachers, the Primary Project Box will contain five themed teaching units in booklet form, each with its own multimedia CD. A teachers’ guide describes how to get the most from the box, and includes advice on using the materials for teachers’ professional development.

Launch date: early September 2007
